Connexions West of England, in North Somerset, have been working in partnership with Fairbridge to engage the hardest to reach young people in the North Somerset area and to develop provision to meet the needs of all young people in the area.
Nicola Burcham, Connexions Executive Manager, said:
'The Septemeber guarantee process demonstrated that there were a number of young people in North Somerset that needed engagement provision. Fairbridge and Connexions have worked together to develop this, with an emphasis on young people progressing onto sustainable learning.'
The top 3 project successes have been:
Engaging young people in a 'stepped' approach and maintaining interest.
To date (Sept 08), 9 young people have achived the Access course award including three ASDAN qualification credits and a certificate.
All of the young people who take part have action and development plans in place.
