Young people’s entitlement

Connexions West will:

  • deliver high quality and impartial information, advice and guidance.
  • provide professionally qualified and competent practitioners.
  • provide a suite of resources, in a range of formats.
  • support the self-assessment of careers education and information, advice and guidance provision.

 
Priority One

A high quality learning route for every young person that enables them to participate, achieve and progress.

Connexions West will deliver high quality and impartial information, advice and guidance to help young people:

  • enter into programmes of learning that suit them.
  • choose the right environment to learn in.
  • access the right support to enable them to progress further in learning and the workplace.
  • raise their aspirations and challenge stereotypes.

 
Priority Two

The support to integrate all services for young people, so that they can make the most of their opportunities and choices. Connexions West will:

  • provide professionally qualified and competent practitioners who will work with 14-19/ integrated youth support service (IYSS) partners and providers.


Priority Three

Stronger local partnerships and consortia arrangements.  Connexions West will:

  • support partnerships of schools, colleges and work-based learning providers to ensure students can access all four routes.
  • give support for collaborative infrastructure to be developed and good practice shared.
  • support 14-19/integrated youth support service partners and providers as they undertake audits/assessments of CEIAG. It will also support the implementation of the action plan resulting from the assessment.

Note: This assessment will be based on the Quality Standards for Young People’s Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) audit tool and feedback from young people, parents/carers and staff.


Priority Four

Establish the right delivery arrangements at a local, regional and national level. Connexions West will:

  • provide a suite of resources – in a range of formats – to support the delivery of CEIAG to young people and to their parents/carers by all 14-19/integrated youth support service partners and providers.
  • provide feedback to 14-19/IYSS partners and providers on the needs of young people and their families to help shape future provision and services.
