Connexions is a youth support service for those aged 13-19 (25 if they have a learning difficulty or a disability, or both). It offers every young person, whatever their circumstances, access to advice, guidance, information and support to ensure a smooth transition into adulthood, citizenship and working life. Services are delivered via a network of Connexions personal advisers. Every young person should have access to a personal adviser.
Connexions works in partnership with a wide range of organisations that also aim to help young people get the best from their lives. These organisations include youth services, schools and colleges, voluntary and community groups, education welfare services, training providers, police, local education authorities, youth offending teams, employers and the Learning and Skills Council.
Connexions, along with their partners, works to ensure young people:
As a parent/carer, you will play a crucial role in supporting your child. Connexions aims to support you, not replace you. The other Parents & Carers pages on this website will give you lots of useful information and advice.
Connexions West of England provides services to young people in Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. Each of these areas has a Connexions Centre where young people can access a range of information resources and speak to a personal adviser.
Connexions services are also available in schools, colleges and in other community settings like youth centres.
