Alternative education

Man with Tree Many schools have alternative learning programmes in place to help keep all pupils involved and achieving in their education. Many of the programmes help you:

  • with your confidence
  • with your ability to work well in groups or on your own
  • improve really important skills such as using words and numbers
  • decide the career you would like to follow
  • prepare for work
  • enjoy your free time
  • achieve the things that are important to you
  • enjoy learning.

Teachers and your Connexions Personal Adviser will talk to you and your parents/carers about alternative education, if they think it would be good for you. They’ll talk through all the options and help you decide what’s best and what you would enjoy.
