Education in Year 9

Photo of an art class Year 9 is the time to make some decisions that will affect what you do at school for the next two years and beyond.

Make sure you think about your:

  • long-term goals and career plans.
  • strengths and weaknesses.
  • likes and dislikes.
  • how you like to learn.

It’s not all about choosing which subject to take at GCSE. You can also choose from a range of qualifications – including the new Diplomas.

There are plenty of people who will be able to help and advise you and lots of information available in school and on the internet. Your Connexions Personal Adviser can help you make the best decision for you.

There is a special Parents/Carers section on this website – make sure yours know about it.
