Equal opportunities in education

Every provider of education and training has an equal opportunities policy. They have a responsibility to broaden the opportunities for all pupils, students and trainees. Their aim is to help everyone do their best – not for everyone to achieve the same.

There are specific UK laws that cover discrimination on the grounds of race, gender and disability. These can be difficult to read and understand. If you feel you are being discriminated against in education or training, speak to your Connexions Personal Adviser. They will be able to put you in touch with the right people to look at your situation.
